MISH APTER

Mish Apter lives in the South West of England and her eldest two sons are army veterans. As the family journeyed through active service, medical discharge and civilian life  Mish desperately needed an avenue in which to express herself and found it in art. Art helps Mish increase her well-being and inspire confidence in her talent.

As an artist who enjoys creating in most mediums Mish favours using a limited palette.  For this exhibition she has chosen to use pastels, acrylics and ink and has used a maximum of 5 colours in her paintings.

Inspiration comes from her fondness for the Minimalist Movement and Bauhaus School and the regions of her sons’ active service symbolised here as an essense of desert life. For reasons yet to be discovered, she also has a thing for trying to depict derelict commercial buildings and dismembered dolls but that’s another story.

Go for it, keep learning, keep reflecting, keep moving forward, turn lemons into lemonade.

“Taking the courage to chase my dreams is my gift to myself. There’s never going to be the perfect time to do anything so you just have to get on and do it. I remain open to life’s opportunities and possibilities and I allow myself the luxury of failure and kind reflection. I’m so fortunate and thankful to be able to learn something from every person or happening that comes into my life, they help shape me and enable me to continue to develop as a person.”
