Helen Llewelyn–Usher

Since a young age, Helen has always loved art and being creative. Coming from a military family, and after studying graphic design at university (where she first joined the TA as part of the EUOTC), she started work in London, becoming one of the very first females to join the Honourable Artillery Company. After over 12yrs service she retired, having reached the rank of LSgt and been elected as a member of the Court of Assistants. After many years in the creative wilderness, it wasn’t until she was painting stones with her daughters on a wet day on the Isle of Wight, that having picked up a paint brush her love of creativity was reignited. With the children at school and a husband back in the MOD, a friend suggested the SAA. Under the gentle guidance of Robin and encouragement from the rest of the wonderful atelier, she has now got back into the swing of it, and is loving the opportunity to learn new techniques and experiment with new mediums in a welcoming and supportive environment.
