DAVID SHAW

David Shaw is a mostly self-taught artist who paints in oils and watercolours.  He lives in Edinburgh and attended a part-time, remote art course during the Pandemic at the Leith School of Art.

He has squeezed drawing and painting in his life now and then from childhood, but has only started properly focussing on painting (as his third career) in the last few years.  While still experimenting and developing his technique, David loves landscape, seascape and colour, the texture of oil paint and the immediacy of water colour.  Many of his landscapes are of Scotland.

David served for three and a half decades in the Army, then founded and is now running two successful veterans’ charities, the Veterans’ Foundation and Launchpad.
